All the necessary agreements are now in place, so without further ado, we are launching our Woolhope Woodheat Share Offer. We are looking to sell shares to the value of £324,305 by 13 July. The projected return on investment is 6.1% averaged over the 20yr project period, and if you are a taxpayer you are likely to have a higher effective rate of return due to tax relief. All the details are in the Share Offer Document which is available from the link as a pdf, or if you’d prefer a hard copy please email us or use the form on the website and we’ll send one out.
We thought you might like to see our new short film explaining the project in the words of the people who are involved with it – we think it came out rather well and it is over on our about page. Woolhope Woodheat is progressing swiftly toward our full share offer- we’ve been getting contracts just right so please bear with us, the definitive share offer document should be available within a couple of weeks.
Hear our Gareth Williams on local radio explaining the project on 29 March 2012

See here for some bioenergy industry coverage using our new catchy name ‘Woolhope Woodheat’ – Woolhope Dome Community Woodfuel Co-operative Limited remains our full legal name – but its more than a bit of a mouthful and we figured we could be saving a few trees already!
We have been successful in our bid to DECC’s LEAF fund – one of 82 projects in the UK so far. This means we are funded up for our upcoming share offer – watch this space, things are hotting up! In the interim you might like to sign up to our mailing list -see the box on the right of this page
If you have a large heating bill (over £5000/yr) we may be able to install a brand new woodchip boiler on your premises and guarantee you cheap heat for 20 yrs.
If you’d like to know more about the project or think you might want to have one of our boilers installed, download our latest information leaflet here
WDCW will be at the Courtyard Theatre, Hereford on Monday 17 October with a stall from 15h00-22h00 as part of the brilliant h.Energy festival. We will also be talking about the project in our slot in the main theatre from 18h30 where we will be sharing the stage with the launch of our ‘sister project’, Leominster Community Solar Co-op. Another chance to meet the project next week is at the Information Market Place event in High Town, Hereford, 10h00-17h00 on Saturday 22nd October. That’s if you miss the CRAG event in Fownhope on Saturday 15th. Phew!
Members of the local community in Fownhope have raised an amazing £30,000 for the Woolhope Dome Community Wood Fuel Co-operative, the majority of which has come from individual contributions. The money will enable to project to launch its full public share issue in October. For more info see the Press Release
